I trust
Giving everyone the
benefit of the doubt
That I never got
Attracting all kinds of people
Good and bad
Who get attached
Sometimes a little intense
When I don’t live up
To the idealised me
Living in their heads
They attack
For too long
I thought it was I
Who was the problem
Letting them down
But I know now
I need to change
To grow and be better
and learn to let
It rust.
