A few days ago, while doomscrolling on TikTok, the algorithm started brought me some witchy content. They were on how to summon deities. I found it so interesting that I fell into a 2-hour rabbit hole and learned that some witches “summon” deities by burning specific items associated with these gods and goddesses as offerings to them.
These videos got me thinking, if someone were to summon me (not that I’m a deity or anything), what would the “offerings” be?
Chocolates
Big back behaviour, I know. I’ve always been a foodie (to the point of being called the Goddess of Food as a joke when I was younger), and if I had to pick one food that would rep me, it would be chocolates. They don’t need to be expensive, but please just don’t get me the cheap tasting kind.
Flowers
Flowers are pretty, they smell good, and I’m just a girl, okay? Plus, almost everyone in my family has a green thumb and I’d like to think I inherited that (I was the best at growing taugeh for Science class in school) so it only makes sense for me to receive flowers as an offering. Bonus points if you offer me my favourite flowers.
Art
I’m not the most artsy person (I struggled through every Seni Visual class in primary AND secondary school and even broke down because I couldn’t sketch) but I truly appreciate art. The piece doesn’t have to be pretty, because I know the struggle. It can be as simple as one of those dumb doodles that tell a story or that poorly sketched eye done while listening to a boring lecture.
And that’s pretty much it! Burn these all with a scented candle (with a smell that’s not too overwhelming) and I’m there.
