Like most kids, I used to read the filtered version of Grimm’s fairytales when I was younger. To see a series where the entire premise is the original, darker tales is refreshing and so interesting because we only ever hear about the clean versions (like the Disney versions).
This show is about Nick, a police dude who’s the descendent of the Brothers Grimm, whose bloodline is tasked with keeping balance between humans and Wesen (mythological creatures). He, like his ancestors before him, has the ability to see the true nature of people and Wesen that live among us. With the help of his friends in the police force and Wesen world, he solves crimes involving Wesen either as victims or perpetrators.

I loved Adaline so much even from the beginning; she was my sassy queen. I loved her whole character arc, the growth was CRAZY. Monroe and Rosalee were my absolute favourites, those babies could do no wrong (they actually did no wrong the whole series). I loved their little litter of triplets. They were also the healthiest relationship I’ve seen on TV. Nick and Sean had their moments, but I couldn’t stand Juliet most of the time. She was alright at first but as the show progressed, she regressed as a character. I was kinda relieved Nick didn’t end up with her tbh.
Overall, I’d definitely rewatch this show just for nostalgia’s sake. They don’t do fantasy crime shows like this anymore. I hope they do go ahead with the spinoff everyone’s been talking about.
